A Hiking We Will Go!

On Saturday, June 13th we participated in our neighborhood's annual garage sale. This year, the kids set up a lemonade/treat stand and it was a huge hit! Porter was our little salesman. Anytime someone would come by, he'd ask, "You want some wemonade? (lemonade) You want a cookie?" How could anyone resist? One time, Porter asked someone, "You have any money?" then, when the person paid and got their lemonade, he said, "Okay, you can go home now." The kids actually made quite a bit of money and afterwards, when I asked Brooke what she wanted to buy with her money, she told me that she wanted to go to the dollar store and pick out two things. So we went and she bought a notebook to write in and a little battery operated fan that was shaped like a flower. Porter picked out a rubber snake and some spiderman bubbles.

The night after our garage sale was the demolition derby at the county fair. Blake was all set to take the kids and go, but halfway there he turned the car around and came home. He told me that it wasn't fair that he was going to go while Grant and I were at home. So instead we got everyone ready and went for a hike instead. This hike is near where we live and is one of our favorites. The trail is shady and you walk beside the running water. So glad we were able to have some family time together!

Alaskan Cousins

My sister and her family have lived in Alaska for the past 6 years. We used to live just 20 minutes from each other for several years and I loved being a part of her kids' lives. Sadly, they moved away just two weeks before Brooke was born, so my kids and hers don't get to see each other very often. Every so often, we do get together and so of course that means taking lots of pictures to document the occasion.

I love Ethan's expression in this picture. Not sure if the dirty look is directed at me or his older brother, but it's hilarious!
Porter somehow lost his shirt while waiting for his turn and could not be persuaded to put it back on. He was also being an overall stinker during this photo session.

Brooke and Olivia had lots of fun in the sandbox. They made a trench and gave Porter the job of filling it up with water.
We wish we could see our Alaskan cousins more often, but when we do, we make sure to squeeze every last drop of fun out our visit to last us until we get together again.

Fair Play

One of our favorite traditions is going to the little red bard at the county fair. I think we've been every year since we moved here. Porter remembered going to to it last year and was really excited to go again.

This year I decided to do a couple other activities with the kids as well. We stood in line for the bounce house and Porter did the obstacle course like a pro! Brooke made crafts and the kids corner. We also went to a tails and scales show where they had live reptiles on display. It was a very fun day.

June Part 1

We love when cousins come to visit! Aunt Steph and two of her girls came at the beginning of June and Brooke and Porter were in heaven! They cheered Brooke on at her last soccer game and then went to the Dinosaur Quarry.
The girls were even sworn in as Junior Rangers

There was lots of hot-tub fun
I got tired of taking Porter potty every five minutes and just told him to go outside

 We watched movies

Brooke and cousin A. put on a play for us

We had such a great weekend!
