Random April Moments

Surprisingly, no children were injured during this wrestling session.

Grant is my cutest little exercise buddy.
Brooke started a new season of soccer and during the first game scored her first goal EVER!! I've been bribing her with a reward for the last 3 seasons if she'd score a goal. She chose fake nails (that lasted one day) as her prize.
Brooke's story she wrote at school
We hired someone to come trim our trees in our backyard. The boys were obsessed with the huge tree trimming truck back there. I noticed two little lumps behind the curtain watching every minute of it.

Dad Does Moab

The weekend after our road trip, Blake decided to take our new purchase (a polaris razor) to Moab with one of his friends...with the kids. "You want to take the kids to Moab? By yourself? Camping?" I asked this multiple times and Blake was always enthusiastic to go. We bought this machine as a way for our family to be together and he didn't want to go alone. So off they went!

they had a fantastic time and Grant and I spent a quiet weekend together at home.

Baby Animal Days

Over the kids' spring break from school, Blake had to work a night shift, so the the kids and I took a road trip. First we stopped at my mom's house. She'd just had shoulder surgery so we took care of her for a few days. Then we headed north to Cache Valley to visit my sister-in-law, Steph and her girls. My kids ADORE "aunt stubbs" and her girls. Porter loves spending time with Uncle Kurt doing "Heman Stuff"

One of the activities we did was go to baby animal days at this heritage center. Upon arriving we ran into Santa Claus (he even had the proper ID to prove it)

I knew Grant would LOVE the baby animals. He OBSESSED with animals.

He also loved the train rides.

Mia is 4 years older than Brooke and Brooke idolizes her.

I'll always have a special spot in my heart for Cache Valley as it's where Blake and I completed school, bought our first house, and where Brooke was born. Going there always seems like coming home.

Easter Weekend

I tried a few new things to get my kids to sit and listen to General Conference. They mostly did(n't) work.

Porter had his preschool Easter egg hunt at the park. There was SO MUCH candy for the kids. Grant found a couple of suckers and totally fine with just eating those, so I took his basket and filled it up and then used the candy for our family Easter egg hunt. Mom for the win!

Porter and his best buddy Wyatt

We also went to the egg hunt the Dinosaur Museum puts on. It's a fast, easy hunt that the kids really like.

All the eggs are empty and at the end the kids turn in the empty eggs for a prize. That's why we like this one...no candy!
The kids decorating sugar cookies at the grocery store.
We came home and dyed Easter eggs.
