July Part 2: razor rides & water days

On July 11 we got our free slurpees from 7-11 and headed up to the mountains for an adventure!

We stopped to each lunch near a creek.

About 2 seconds after this picture was taken Porter fell in the water and got soaked. We didn't bring any extra clothes and he had to wear wet pants the rest of the day.

We spent time at another state park near our home. the kids love jumping off the docks and playing on the beach.

We brought a little grill and the Kelly Kettle to make burgers and s'mores for dinner!

There are these 3 fountains on main street and my kids have begged every summer to go play in them (we drive by all the time because they are in the middle of town, but I never stop). Finally they got their chance.

About an hour from our house is a national recreation area. Another one of our favorite spots to take a picnic to and swim!

The kids thought it would be fun to have pillow sack races before bed. Grant decided he'd rather wear his blanket on his head.

Another state park near our home (different than the earlier one). I love that the kids are getting more comfortable on the ski. Brooke is a pro and probably ready for the real thing now that she's been doing this for about 5 years. This year Porter was able to get up on the ski all by himself! Usually one of us is in the water with him helping him to get situated and stand up before the boat pulls him up. We love when Blake's mom gets to come with us.
