The end of August also marked the end of our communities Passport to Summer program. The kids participated in this last year and wanted to do it again.
In May each kid gets their passport book with 80 different activities in it. You completed the activity and take it to the sponsor business to get your stamp. Stamps equal raffle tickets in a big prize drawing at the end of August.
We teamed up with a friend of mine and her kids. Each Tuesday we got together and took our kids around to complete as many activities as we could. By the end of the summer my kids had completed 64 of the 80 activities.
A lot of the activities were things we already do the summertime: ride bikes, swim in a lake, eat s'mores etc... We also had to go on hikes, take the historical walking tour of downtown, play in sprinklers, and attend many of the community events like the fair and paddle fest to earn a stamp.
Here are some other things we did:
play basketballClean rooms
Hike to the historical flume remains (built by pioneer settlers)
wash the car
Visit the U Hill
Take treats to a neighbor
Wear our seatbelts
Do 1 hour act of service
Take a picture with a dinosaur
Take a picture in front of a Coldwell Banker sign
Take a Selfie
Eat ice cream
Do a kids tri
Last year at the prize raffle, Brooke was the only one of the kids who one a prize. This year, all the kids one several things. So many prizes, in fact, we made them each pick one of their prizes and give it to our friends who were unable to make it to the raffle.
The passport to summer program was a great way to keep us busy during the summer! We love doing it and can't for it next year!
