July Part 1

 July has come and gone, and with it came a whole bunch of summer fun. We spent a day up at Flaming Gorge at one of our favorite little day picnic sites. The kids had fun jumping from the dock, swimming, and pretending to catch fish.

 Grant is pretty serious about his ice cream.

 July 11 was free slurpee day at 7-11. This year all the kids partook of the cold treat and loved every second of slurping it down.

 Our library did weekly activities during the months of June and July. The kids got their faces painted at one of the activities.

 We attempted another lake day on the boat. This time it was just our family and I'm not going to lie: it was a rough day. Kids crying, mom and dad stressed out...we made it through and ended on a good note, but I don't think we'll attempt that again without at least Blake's parents there to help us out. Grant needed to be held the entire time and Blake is the only one who really knows how to drive the boat onto the trailer as well as back the truck and trailer down into the water--he can't really do those two things at once and it was just a stressful mess. It was one of those experiences where you live and learn.

 We had some fun visitors come spend a weekend with us. My best friend from high school, Sarah, came with her two kids Elliot and Lucy.

 We spent an afternoon at the dinosaur museum.

 Grant is a super snuggler after he wakes up from his afternoon nap.

 We've loved spending time in our garden this summer. Blake and Brooke especially loved the pea harvest.

 We buy our toilet paper in bulk (no running out of the last roll while you're on the pot!) and I asked the kids to unload it. It was so cute how they figured out to do a human chain and work together on their own.

 We planted our apricot tree when it was just a tiny baby tree and after almost 5 years of growing, it finally produced our first batch of apricots! We were so excited! The kids loved helping me pick them.

 My kids have such an active imagination. They crack me up with the things they come up with. They each recieved a jumprope at a library activity and it can't just be a simple jump rope. Nope. The jump rope turned into a horse they rode around the yard. Brooke tied her "horse" to the deck so it didn't run away.
