I don't know about the rest of you, but July flew by! I can't believe we are already into August. And what a fun, busy summer we've had so far, too! The last couple weeks of July were jam-packed. First, my dad and his wife came to visit from Arkansas. They spent 4 days with us. One of the days Blake's parents graciously offered to take everyone out on their boat. We had a great time sight seeing around Flaming Gorge; we saw some antelope and some big horned sheep--very cool! (I meant to make these collages bigger when I uploaded them, but I forgot. So if you want to see bigger pics, click on them)
I was excited to see my sister and her kids again. They were heading to the airport for their return flight to Alaska and decided to make a detour by our house for a night.
As soon as my family was out the door, we packed up and headed out of town for Blake's family vacation. Blake's brother and a friend built two water skiing lakes and have lanscaped and done all sorts of improvements to the land. It was the perfect setting for a family getaway.
Aunt DD brought a giant, homemade twister board, the kids had fun jumping on the water tramp, doing crafts (B. is showing off her horse she just colored), and all the kids got lots of cousin time in.
Hanging out by the lake, eating watermelon, Blake kneeboarding (something he hasn't tried since he was 10), Aunt Steph sharing pop rocks with Brooke, and laughing at Uncle Chris who was the auctioneer at the family auction.
Each family got a set of chips to use to bid on items Grams found on her treasure hunting at DI and the dollar store. Blake is helping B. bid on a coloring book and some crayons.

As Brooke gets older, it is so fun to watch her interact with her cousins more. She became such good friends with her cousins around her age and adored older cousins like Jane and others who gave her attention.
Craft time was a huge hit. Aunt Steph brought some gourds from her garden and all the kids had fun paiting them...it definitely kept Brooke entertained!
In fact, at the end of the our trip, Grams handed out awards to the grandkids and Brooke got her award for getting the most body paint!

Yay! I was hoping for a post! That is a cute picture of us BTW. And I am in love with the lake! A much safer alternative to a houseboat on Lake Powell. Grams rocks with all those awards and the auction is awesome! What fun ideas!
It looks like you had a very busy July no wonder it went by so fast for you. It looks like you had a lot of fun with family...Brooke is lucky to have so many cousins to play with.
Thanks Courtney for blogging such fun pictures. The summer of 2011 and being home is one we will never forget. How we love each and all of you. You are such a good sport to put up with all this Millecam mania. But you are as crazy as the rest of us. It was a beautiful place to meet. Kent and Jeannie did so much work to make it happen. Thanks for the yummy breakfast.
