Dinner at the Land

One of our favorite springtime activities--before the weather gets too hot for a fire--is to go eat dinner out at our land. It seemed silly for us to have this land and wait to enjoy it when we build. Why not enjoy it now? Some people who live near our land asked if it would be okay to put their horses on it, so that's been a fun addition to our outings there. The kids love the horses--I think they'll be sad when we build and find out we don't actually own them and they aren't staying forever.

There is literally NOTHING out at the land except for the horses and the fire pit but the kids have a blast! They find sticks and explore and run and play. We always have a great time there.
I have to add a little side story here: Blake would always talk about his 'bibs' he wears at work. So one day he came home wearing them and I about died laughing. "You wear overalls!" So yes, this is Blake's work outfit. He isn't channeling his inner 80's child.
Blake built these benches for our fire pit from an old cottonwood tree.

Nothing like a hotdog roasted over an open fire!

It's so fun to start making memories at a place that will hopefully one day be our forever home.
